Information We Collect

Our privacy policy addresses only those activities hosted on our servers. Web sites that are not owned or controlled by Educadium, including those of our customers and those sites that we link to, may have their own policies. We have no control over the actions and privacy policies of other organizations, and their activities are not addressed by this policy. The use of cookies by our partners, affiliates, tracking utility company, or other service providers is not covered by our privacy statement. We do not have access or control over these cookies.

In an effort to provide the best possible service and security, Educadium collects limited non-personally identifiable information provided by your browser. This information may include (but is not limited to): IP address; browser type; time and date of use; and any user activities performed while on the Educadium website or EasyCampus service.

Educadium may place or read cookies on your computer to help us identify whether you have visited an Educadium site. A cookie is a small piece of data sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Anonymous session cookies are created each time you visit one of our sites. They do not remain on your computer after you leave the site.

When you have registered with an Educadium site, we may use personalized cookies to customize your user experience. Personalized cookies are linked to your information and remain on your computer after you leave our site.

Two cookies are used. A session cookie provides continuity and maintains your login from page to page. When you log out or close the browser this cookie is destroyed (in your browser and on the server). An ID cookie remembers your username within the browser. This means when you return to this site the username field on the login page will be filled out for you already. It is safe to refuse the ID cookie, but you will need to retype your username every time you log in.

Educadium does not store your credit card number or reuse this information in any way, although we may store information about your transaction. All electronic payment transactions, including credit card payments, are completed through PayPal and not on the Educadium site.

If you are under the age of 13, we do not want your personal information and you are not authorized to send it to us.

Public Disclosure of Personal Information

Information that you provide in creating or updating certain aspects of your public profile, including postings and messages, could be viewed by registered and non-registered third parties on the service (e.g., guests) and as described below in “How We Use Your Information.” Customer testimonials and other marketing promotions may contain your name. Educadium will get consent from you prior to posting any testimonials or promotions.

Profiles

We store certain personal information that you provide us. This information may include (but is not limited to): user registration (including first name, last name, address, email, and organization name); email messages or other information you send us; data from online forms; and information about goods and services you have purchased (or attempted to purchase) through Educadium. At other points on our service, we may collect additional personal information from you. This information is used for internal purposes only and to improve the experience of users of the service.

Educadium may provide aggregated data about the use of our services to third parties. We will share your profile only with third parties who assist us in processing and analyzing the information and optimizing our site.

Tracking Technologies

We employ (or our partners employ) software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) that help us better manage content on our site by informing us of what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

How We Use Your Information

Educadium cooperates with law enforcement agencies in identifying anyone who tries to use our services for illegal activities.

Your information may be used to: (a) provide access to campus, courses, and materials to which you have purchased access; (b) verify your identity; (c) anticipate and resolve problems with our service; (d) personalize your service; (e) collect delinquent payment for products and services sold to you; (f) contact you regarding our services; and (g) develop and market products and services that may be of interest to you.

It is our general policy not to share your personal information with third parties. However, Educadium may: (a) release information about users who we believe are in violation of our policies; (b) report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we suspect may be unlawful; (c) release any information to comply with a judicial order or a lawfully issued subpoena; and (d) share information as necessary in order to deliver the product or service you ordered or to collect a delinquent payment.

In addition, for non-marketing purposes for which you cannot opt-out, selected personally identifiable information may be shared with: (a) appropriate officials in cases of health or safety emergencies; (b) state and local authorities, within a juvenile justice system, pursuant to applicable state laws; (c) parties with legitimate operational interests, including contractors, consultants and volunteers who have agreed to abide by this privacy policy; (d) relevant educational institutions; (e) certain officials for audit or evaluation purposes; (f) appropriate parties in connection with financial aid; (g) organizations conducting certain education-related studies for or on our behalf; and (h) accrediting organizations.

If we go through an assignment, sale, joint venture or other transfer or disposition of some or all of the assets of the company or any of its sites, we may assign, sell, license or transfer any information that you have provided to us, including personally identifying information, to the third party(s) purchasing or assuming such assets.

Security

Educadium attempts to follow generally accepted industry standards to protect your personal information. We make efforts to comply with FERPA guidelines concerning protection of student information. This site has security measures that protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control. However, no method of Internet transmission or electronic storage method is 100% secure. Third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. Educadium strives to protect your personal information, but cannot guarantee its absolute security or privacy.

Educadium and EasyCampus administrators may require a username and password combination to access Educadium or EasyCampus content and features. Remember to sign out and close your browser window when you have finished. This is to ensure that others cannot access your information and correspondence through your computer. We recommend that you do not divulge your password to anyone. We will never ask for your password in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email.
